Princess Maker-Like Machine Child Features 3 Daughters to Raise

by · Siliconera

JAST and Syojo Kishidan released a new Princess Maker style daughter-raising simulation called Machine Child on PCs worldwide. This is a life sim in which someone picks one of three daughters and raises them until they are 18 in the hopes of helping them find a good future. The artist behind it is Ooyari Ashito, who worked on games like Littlewitch Romanesque and Eiyuu Senki

If someone played a Princess Maker game in the past, then going through one of the routes for the three possible daughters in Machine Child should feel similar. At the outset of the simulation, you decide if you will raise Chloe, Cordelia, or Florine. Each one has their own unique appearance and personality. Once you pick the child you’ll raise, you decide what her schedule will look like by choosing training and work experiences for her. You’ll also decide which people she might interact with, the clothes she wears, and the items you get and use. A skill tree is also present, determining if she picks up talents associated with stats like Charisma, Intelligence, Morality, Sensitivity, and Vitality. As time goes by, you’ll see her influence and connections go up with factions like The Aristocracy, The Chivalric Order, The Holy See, The Institute of Magic, and The Underworld. It will also be possible to draw various tarot cards to influence her future and ending.

Here’s a trailer that shows how the game works. It prioritizes making connections by meeting with people during downtime. It also shows how skills can determine if you meet with and form bonds with people.

Machine Child is one of multiple Princess Maker style games to appear in the last few months. Galaxy Princess Zorana is one, though that puts players in the shoes of the heroine herself. Volcano Princess is another. There’s also Magical Princess, which will launch this year.

Machine Child is now available on PCs.
