Strictly Come Dancing spoiler leak leaves fans 'devastated' over unexpected elimination
by Mike Taylor, Rose Hill · DevonLiveFans of Strictly Come Dancing were left stunned after a spoiler about the fate of a beloved star leaked online following Saturday night's show. With only seven pairs remaining, the competition on the BBC programme is intensifying, especially with the introduction of a Samba-thon.
The dance-athons, which are added to the main dance scores, are always contentious and can potentially turn the leaderboard on its head. The results show is recorded on Saturday evening after the live show but is broadcast on Sunday.
We are aware of the celebrity who will be leaving but has chosen not to disclose their identity. Following the leak of the Strictly result, fans took to X - formerly known as Twitter - to express their disappointment.
One fan said: "Gutted for them."
Another added: "I'm shocked at this" and a third commented: "I'm not one to moan at these things usually, but what a ridiculous result."
Some fans suggested that certain celebrities had been unfairly treated by the introduction of the Samba-thon. One viewer tweeted: "I think the 'sam-bathon' was put in to try and get certain celebrities down the leaderboard and make the dance-off easier for the judges and it's backfired."
On Saturday night, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec stole the show with their American Smooth to Lewis Capaldi's Someone You Loved, scoring the first perfect 40 of the series. The performance, dedicated by Aljaz to his young daughter, left judges Shirley Ballas "speechless" and Anton Du Beke in tears, as it reminded him of "why we dance".
However, the top spot in the Samba-thon was claimed by JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, who rocketed to the top of the leaderboard after earning a score of 39 for their Charleston to Yes Sir! That's My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two.
At the other end of the spectrum, Pete Wicks and Jowita Przysta found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard after failing to impress with their Tango to Phil Collins and Phil Bailey's 1984 hit Easy Lover, earning a score of just 29. Their Samba added an extra three points to their total, placing them fifth out of the seven couples.
Just above them on the leaderboard were Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas, who scored a combined total of 34 for their two dances, and Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, also with a score of 34. Chris and Dianne found themselves at the bottom of the Samba-thon.
