UEFA Champions League Quarter-finals Fixtures Confirmed As Liverpool Stop Osimhen’s Galatasaray
by Ernest Victor · Naija NewsThe 2025/26 UEFA Champions League quarter-final line-up is complete, with heavyweight clashes confirmed following the round of 16.
Defending champions Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich, while Paris Saint-Germain meet Liverpool in a standout tie. Elsewhere, Atlético Madrid take on Barcelona, and Sporting CP faces Arsenal.
The ties will be played on April 7-8 and April 14-15, with the final scheduled for May 30 at the Puskás Aréna.
Liverpool booked their place emphatically, brushing aside Galatasaray 4-0 at Anfield to overturn a first-leg deficit. Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch and Mohamed Salah sealed a dominant win.
Galatasaray’s hopes faded early when Victor Osimhen suffered a forearm injury in a clash with Ibrahima Konate. He struggled on until half-time before being withdrawn.
Szoboszlai levelled the tie with a composed finish midway through the first half. The hosts could have been further ahead before the break, with Salah missing a clear chance and later seeing a penalty saved by Ugurcan Cakir.
The second half told a different story. Salah turned provider for Ekitike before Gravenberch added a third from close range. Salah then marked his 50th Champions League goal with a superb strike, capping a one-sided night.
PSG arrive in the last eight in ruthless form after dismantling Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate, setting up a high-stakes reunion with Liverpool.
Elsewhere, Harry Kane scored twice as Bayern swept past Atalanta 10-2 on aggregate. Barcelona cruised beyond Newcastle United, while Atletico edged Tottenham Hotspur despite a spirited second-leg display.
Only Liverpool and Arsenal remain from the six Premier League entrants, with Chelsea and Manchester City eliminated earlier in the round of 16.
