PAK vs BAN 3rd ODI Live: With both teams winning one game each, the 3rd ODI will be a decider.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh (PAK vs BAN) 3rd ODI Live Cricket Score Updates: Saif Hassan departs for 36, Bangladesh are one after Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and opted to bowl first against Mehidy Miraz’s Bangladesh. Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in the final game of what has been an hard-fought series with a tinge of controversy Pakistan had lost the first ODI by eight wickets before winning the second game via the DLS method.

But the biggest story of the series has been the controversial run out of Salman Ali Agha in the second ODI by Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The run out re-ignited the ‘spirit of cricket’ debate, with both Pakistan’s Agha and Bangladesh’s Miraz having plenty to say about the matter afterwards.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 128/1 after 21.5 overs vs PAK

There is a bit of turn for the Pakistan spinners to work with here in the middle, but somehow that turn has not resulted in wickets. At times when the wickets are spinning, the modern leg-spinner tends to miss out a bit, and this is where these are the king of surfaces where a finger-spinner might do better.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 109/1 after 19 overs vs PAK

Shaheen Shah Afridi has brought himself back into the attack and picked up the wicket of Saif. The batter charged down the track and whacked the ball through covers, but was beaten all ends up. The bowling change has worked straight away for Pakistan. Najmul Shanto is the new batter in for Bangladesh.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 96/0 after 17 overs vs PAK

The first water break of the game has arrived, and this has been an excellent start for Bangladesh. With the start they have gotten themselves here, they should be looking to get to at least 280-300 from here on, which will be a formidable total on this wicket for Pakistan to chase.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 82/0 after 14.3 overs vs PAK

The captaincy from Shaheen thus far has been a bit reactive rather than proactive. He has tried to keep the bowlers bowl short bursts, but it is the field sets which seem to be letting the Bangladeshi batters away with easy singles. Abrar, who has started well, seems to be taking a bit of pasting from the other end.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 70/0 after 11.5 overs vs PAK

Pakistan altough has slowed down the rate a bit, the partnership continues to grow rapidly here for the hosts. Shaheen's bowling first is not the issue, considering the possibility of rain later in the second innings, but since the wicket is flat, he needs to find methods of picking up wickets.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 50/0 after 9.4 overs vs PAK

Bangladesh has put on a 50-run stand here. It is a nice opening partnership. Tanzid has taken the initiative and made sure Bangladesh has gotten off to a quick start; meanwhile, Saif took his time. He is a quality player, as the latter has shown during the Asia Cup last year, but he is just going through a lean patch, it seems.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 41/0 after 7.4 overs vs PAK

Pakistan has made the bowling changes here. Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf have come into the attack. It is a good proactive bowling change from Shaheen, as a lot was not happening for Shaheen and Rauf. The conditions are also quite muggy today here, hence shorter and sharper spells might be the way to go.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 30/0 after 5.1 overs vs PAK

This is a pretty good start for Bangladesh. The Pakistan bowlers, both Shaheen and Haris Rauf, have looked a bit toothless to start with. There is not a lot of swing or seam moment for both the pacers to work with, hence they have tried to alter their lines and lenghts which the Bangladesh batters have played pretty bravely.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 22/0 after 3.1 overs vs PAK

Haris Rauf has taken the new ball from the other end today to start with, which is a pretty strange move. Regardless of the format and team Rauf plays for, he usually tends to be the first change bowler, but today, Shaheen has given him the responsibility of the new ball, and he did not start well.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: BAN 2/0 after 1.1 overs vs PAK

Shaheen Shah Afridi has taken the new ball here, and the ball is going in straight lines. Both Saif Hussain and Tanzid are fairly aggressive players, and the way the pitch has started today, it does seem like they might have an opportunity to free their arms a bit and score some quick runs to inject momentum into the innings.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: Pitch report by Athar Ali Khan

"The move to the pitch which was used in the first international. If you look at the surface itself, it's much less grass. There isn't a whole lot of grass covering, but since there was a thunderstorm the other night, you see a little bit dark patches here. It might be just a little bit tacky, you know, sometimes, it's still very strong in breeze, so it will dry up. But initially, the first 10 overs or so, I think there will be something for the bowlers. We already know that Shaheen Shah Afrifi has decided to bowl first on this surface. No surprises here, so you'outside the leg-stump be looking to bowl on the stumps. I think this is, during the series, it's turning out to be a really good sporting wicket. I love the way the curators have worked on, especially on the surface. You've got about runs, 275 is Pakistan's score. You've got about 3 50s already being scored in this series. What about the wickets taken by the seamers? 19 compared to 11 from a spinner. So if there is a sporting wicket, I love when there is something available for everyone, not a one-sided affair. Yes, this looks once again a very good surface for batters and bowlers, and I reckon if a team can score 250 or more, then I think they'outside the leg-stump have to be challenged,"

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: Shaheen Afridi at toss

We [will] bowl first. Actually, also as a pre-game thing in the team, two players were injured, Shamyl Hussain is injured, Hussain Talaz is injured, last game, that's why shoulder dislocated. Wasim Jr is resting, so he's gone again. So that's why we just decided to like, you know, go for a team and hopefully we bowl well and take a couple of wickets. (did weather impact the decision?) Yeah, that's why we chose the one because also the condition looks good right now and later on it will rain again and hopefully we take our wicket and restrict them. So the two debutants playing they also are very good batters - Ghazi Gori debut and also Saad Masood debut. So I hope for their performance and support them. Three changes, two new debutants.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI, Live Cricket Score: Mehidy Miraz at toss

I'm happy because the wicket looks good. I think we are confident. In the last two matches we have bowled well, but still I'm confident that if we get that score, definitely it's a very good score on this wicket. Yes, definitely. I think we always talk about the best batting unit. You have to take responsibility in the top order and the middle-order batsmen. So if we get the runs, definitely our team will be better. I think everyone has to take responsibility. Yes, definitely. The most important thing is that you have to take responsibility and build partnerships. We should have partnerships with the top order. If you get partnerships, definitely we will be in a good position in the match. Yes, I think 260 is a very good score in these conditions because we have a very good bowling attack - three fast bowlers and two spinners - and definitely we can defend that. No, we don’t have changes. Today it is the same team.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh, 3rd ODI LIVE: Takeaways for both teams

Pakistan were criticised by many former stars for their strategy of handing out multiple debuts in this series against Bangladesh. But Maaz Sadaqat, playing in only his second ODI earlier this week, was a revelation for Pakistan in the second ODI, giving them a flying start with a 46-ball 75. Then, he also contributed with the ball, scalping three wickets.

For Bangladesh, Nahid Rana, with his five wickets in the first ODI to topple Pakistan for just 114, has emerged as a player to watch out for. He was expensive in the second game, but the first ODI did show glimpses of what he can do at full flow with the ball.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh, 3rd ODI LIVE: What happened in the series so far?

In both games, Bangladesh have won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. IN the first game, Pakistan capitulated while batting first, getting all out for 114 with youngster Nahid Rana picking up five wickets. Then, in the second game, thanks to Maaz Sadaqat, who was playing in only his second ODI for Pakistan, the visiting team were able to put up a decent score on board, even thought they lost momentum after the controversial run out of Salman Ali Agha. (In fact, Pakistan lost seven wickets for 43 runs since the Agha wicket). The second innings was interrupted by heavy rain and when the game resumed, Bangladesh had a curtailed target to chase.

Pakistan ended up winning the second game via the DLS Method.

This leaves today's game as the decider.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh, 3rd ODI LIVE: What was the run out controversy about?

The Salman Ali Agha run out incident that re-ignited the conversation about 'Spirt of Cricket' happened in the second game at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.

On the fourth ball of the 39th over, which was being bowled by Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Mohd Rizwan defended the ball which rolled towards Agha at the non-striker’s end. The ball hit Agha's pads and his bat and he tried to pick the ball up. But Miraz, who moved sideways, got there first and picked the ball up and then threw it at the stumps at the non-striker’s end. The Pakistan cricketer was shocked to see Miraz and the other Bangladesh fielders appealing for a run out.

The decision was sent upstairs to the third umpire and while he was taking a look, cameras caught a livid Agha throwing his gloves and bat on the ground in anger. He had tried to pick the ball up to give the Bangladesh bowler.

The third umpire had given Agha run out and he trudged off in anger. Cameras then caught the usually calm Agha gesticulating in anger and aiming his words at Bangladesh players who were celebrating the wicket. At one point, Rizwan too had to intervene and hold back a Bangladesh player who tried to say something back to Agha as he was walking off.

HOLA

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the third ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh. It will be a game that decides the winner of the series. The first two games have seen plenty of drama already: a batting slump from Pakistan in the first game which led to them being all out for 114, a splendid wrecking ball of a spell from Bangladesh's Nahid Rana, then a whirlwind knock from Maaz Sadaqat in the second game, a controversial run out of Salman Ali Agha, and the controversy that ensued.

All of this had led to the prospect of an entertaining third game today.

Controversy erupted during the second ODI match between Pakistan and Bangladesh when the Men in Green’s Salman Ali Agha was run out by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The incident, which will no doubt bring up the old debate over spirit of cricket, happened during the 4th ball of the 39th over.

Miraz was bowling to Mohammad Rizwan who played the ball back towards the right of the bowler which Miraz stopped with his boot. Meanwhile, Agha, who was on the non striker’s end, was out of his crease and in Miraz’s way with both players in close proximity. Agha then bento down to pick the ball and hand it back to the bowler but Miraz swooped in himself and in an under-armed throw knocked the bails off with Agha still outside the crease.
