PFL Championships live blog: Brendan Loughnane vs. Timur Khizriev

This is the 2024 PFL World Championships live blog for Brendan Loughnane vs. Timur Khizriev, the featherweight tournament final this Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Loughnane joined the PFL in 2019 after failing to earn a contract (despite winning) on Dana White’s Contender Series, and that turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the English fighter. Since joining the PFL, Loughnane is 12-2, including winning the 2022 featherweight tournament and the $1 million prize that goes along with it. After falling short in the 2023 season, Loughnane is now back in position to reclaim a PFL title.

Undefeated at 17-0, the 29-year-old Khizriev is a former Bellator standout who moved to PFL this year to end the featherweight season. He kept his winning ways going with three straight decision wins and is now on the cusp of earning his first major world title.
