Messi included in Argentina squad ahead of international retirement

Lionel Messi has been included in Argentina’s squad for their friendly matches during the upcoming international window.

Argentina will play three matches against Bolivia, Burkina Faso and Benin Republic.

Last month, Messi announced his retirement from the Argentina national team after 21 years of representing his country.

The Inter Miami forward will play his farewell game on October 6 in Buenos Aires against Benin Republic, the federation has confirmed.

However, it remains unclear if the 39-year-old will play in the two matches against Bolivia and Burkina Faso before facing Benin Republic.
