Reacting to the result, NPP communicator Awal Mohammed said the performance demonstrated the team’s quality despite his personal football preferences.
“I’ll be honest, I’m not a Messi or Argentina supporter,” he wrote.
Referring to Argentina’s comeback, he added, “This evening, Argentina reminded me of what Liverpool legendary coach Bill Shankly meant when he said, ‘Form is temporary, but class is permanent.’”
“To come from two goals down and score three in 11 minutes to eliminate Egypt… that’s not luck. That’s class!” he stated.
Awal Mohammed concluded his post by congratulating Argentina on securing a place in the last eight of the tournament.
