Nigeria defender Osinachi Ohale retires from international football

Nigeria defender Osinachi Ohale has announced her retirement from international football after a 16-year career with the Super Falcons.

The 33-year-old leaves the national team with five Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles and 86 appearances for Nigeria.

Ohale represented the Super Falcons at four FIFA Women’s World Cups and seven editions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

She said the decision to retire was difficult but she leaves with a sense of fulfilment after representing different generations of the Super Falcons.

“After 16 years of wearing the Nigeria jersey, representing my country and giving everything I had for this beautiful sport, I have made the very difficult decision to retire from international football,” she wrote.
