T-ara member Jiyeon and professional baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun have finalized their divorce through mediation, two years after their marriage. The couple’s property division, including their high-profile newlywed home, has drawn significant public interest.

According to reports on November 21st, Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun’s divorce mediation was successfully concluded the previous day at the Seoul Family Court. Neither Jiyeon nor Hwang attended the session, with their legal representatives appearing in their stead to reach an agreement. After lengthy discussions between their attorneys, the divorce mediation was finalized, officially ending their two-year marriage.

While the details of their property division remain undisclosed, attention has focused on their newlywed home, the L Residence in Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The property, purchased by Hwang Jae Gyun in 2021 for approximately 6.7 billion KRW (about $5.5 million USD), is a 62-pyeong (approximately 2,200 square feet) luxury unit known for housing celebrities such as Junsu from TVXQ, actor Jo In Sung, and notable business figures.

With monthly maintenance fees ranging between 3 million and 5 million KRW ($2,200–$4,000 USD), the residence stands out as a prestigious living space. Some speculate that Jiyeon may have grounds to claim ownership due to her two-year residence there during the marriage. However, Jiyeon recently shared photos on her social media taken in a new living space, indicating that she has already moved.

The couple tied the knot in December 2022 amid widespread congratulations but announced their separation in October of this year. Jiyeon’s legal representative stated at the time that the two had failed to overcome their differences and, after a period of separation, mutually agreed to divorce, submitting the necessary paperwork to the Seoul Family Court.

The divorce marks the end of their brief but highly publicized union, leaving fans and the public reflecting on the couple’s journey.
