Moped rider seriously injured in highway crash

A 52-year-old man was seriously injured this afternoon after losing control of his moped on Kamehameha Highway near Johnson Road.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said crews responded to the crash at about 12:40 p.m.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered multiple injuries, including a head injury. Paramedics treated him at the scene and transported him to a hospital for further treatment.
