Ranji Trophy: Nagaland on top against Sikkim
· Nagaland PageDimapur, November 7: Nagaland ended Day-2 of their Ranji Trophy match against Sikkim on top with a lead of 2 runs and 9 wickets intact. Nagaland score was 194/2 at the close of the day’s play at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, Dimapur.
Earlier Sikkim were bowled out for 192 in their 1st inning, with Nagaland’s Dip Borah taking 5 wickets.
After dismissing Sikkim for 192, Nagaland began their innings strongly, led by Dega Nischal unbeaten 103 and Hem Chetri’s unbeaten 59, setting the stage to build on the advantage on Day-3.
Cooch Behar Trophy
Gujarat defeats Nagaland by an inning and 297 runs in the Cooch Behar Trophy played at the Sovima Cricket Ground, Sovima.
Earlier Gujarat declared their innings at an impressive 410/4, powered by Luv Padhiyar’s unbeaten 125. Nagaland’s Sundram Kumar fought valiantly with the ball, claiming 3 wickets.
Nagaland faced a challenging task in response, with the first innings ending at 15 runs in just 17.3 overs, where Vraj Kaushik Desai’s remarkable bowling performance (9 wickets) left the batting lineup in tatters. In the follow-on, Nagaland showed resistance but managed only 98 runs.
