The NFL posted video of the two seated together in a box at Arrowhead Stadium as Kansas City opened the season against the Denver Broncos, captioning it, “Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise in the house for MNF.” The post drew 1.3 million views in about an hour.

It was Swift’s first Chiefs game since her July wedding, and she chose Arrowhead over the 78th Emmys in Los Angeles. She still appeared during the ceremony in a pretaped Law & Order: SVU sketch with host Mariska Hargitay, where her absence was explained with a joke about her husband having a work commitment.

Cruise was a guest at Swift and Kelce’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden. The ceremony fell on his 64th birthday, 2 years after he attended an Eras Tour show in London and reportedly traded friendship bracelets. On Monday, Swift also watched alongside her dad and mother-in-law. Her mother, Andrea Swift, was also in the family box, and Swift wore a red-and-cream gingham polo from Guest in Residence, Gigi Hadid’s brand.

The broadcast later caught Swift and Cruise high-fiving after Patrick Mahomes connected with Rashee Rice for a 13-yard touchdown late in the second quarter, giving Kansas City a 14–7 lead.

It’s Kelce’s first regular-season game since the summer wedding. Ahead of kickoff, he told ESPN’s Chris Berman that marrying Swift “was the best night of my life” and “more than I could have ever dreamed it to be because of all the people that showed up and the amount of love that was in the air.”

Kelce, beginning his 14th NFL season on a one-year deal, said he isn’t ready to walk away. “I want to keep playing until the wheels fall off, I always say,” he said. “I still have the desire to go out there and compete, and I still think I can compete at a high level.”

The Chiefs won 31–10, their first victory in 295 days.
