The Helinox x Genesis Magma Racing chair and cot are the latest technical equipment built for the grueling FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The two Korean companies have aligned to bring Helinox’s renowned structural integrity to the Genesis Magma Racing (GMR) team for the 2026 season. Debuting at the WEC 6 Hours of Imola, the gear is engineered specifically for use in the paddock by drivers and crew.

At the core of this partnership is a shared obsession with weight, precision, and sustained performance. The GMR-001 Hypercar and Helinox’s folding equipment run on the exact same logic: strip what doesn’t belong and strengthen what remains. In endurance racing, where the 24 Hours of Le Mans acts as the ultimate test, every gram on the car must earn its place. Helinox approaches its gear with the exact same philosophy.

Helinox’s foundational product, the sub-1kg Chair One, broke the assumption that strong objects must be heavy. This is achieved through DAC, the Korean aluminum manufacturer and engineering company behind Helinox. Working in high-performance alloys, DAC supplies the structural tubing that allows these chairs to hold more than a hundred kilograms while weighing almost nothing. When the Genesis Magma Racing car was unveiled, the Helinox and DAC logos sat side-by-side on its exterior, signaling a declaration of this shared engineering method.

The first pieces from the collaboration — a chair and a cot — are working gear designed for heavy rotation through long weekends of practice, qualifying, pit work, and recovery. While currently serving the team on the circuit, this equipment is rigorously engineered to survive a long time.

Retail versions of the Helinox x Genesis Magma Racing gear drops later in the season, with more products currently in development.
