France booked their place in a third consecutive FIFA World Cup semi-final with a 2-0 victory over Morocco in Boston on Wednesday. After a goalless first half in which Yacine Bounou denied Kylian Mbappe from the penalty spot and produced a string of fine saves, the France captain broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a stunning curling effort from outside the box. Ousmane Dembele doubled the advantage six minutes later, finishing off a move created by Mbappe, as Didier Deschamps' side comfortably saw out the contest.

The result keeps alive France's bid to add to their 2018 World Cup triumph after finishing runners-up in 2022, while Morocco's impressive campaign came to an end at the quarter-final stage.
