The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has released the admit cards for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today, January 7. Candidates who have registered for the exam can now download their hall tickets from the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
To access the GATE 2025 admit cards, candidates need to log in using their enrolment ID and password. The GATE 2025 examination will be conducted on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, across multiple centres.
Conducted in English, the three-hour test offers 30 different papers, allowing candidates to opt for one or two. The exam includes three types of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD GATE 2025 ADMIT CARDS
1. Visit the official website: gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
2. Click on the "Download Admit Card" link on the homepage.
3. Log in using your enrolment ID and password.
4. Enter the security captcha displayed on the screen.
5. Click on the "Submit" button.
6. Your admit card will appear on the screen.
7. Download and print the admit card for future reference.

EXAM PATTERN
- Mode of exam: The test papers will be in English. Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 3 hours
- Number of subjects (papers): 30
- Sections: General Aptitude (GA) + Candidate's Selected Subjects
- Type of questions: Candidate's Selected Subject(s), (a) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (b) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and/or (c) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions
- Marking scheme: Questions carry 1 mark or 2 marks
Negative marking:
- For a wrong answer chosen in an MCQ, there will be a negative marking.
- For a 1-mark MCQ, a 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- For a 2-mark MCQ, a 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions.
- There is no partial marking in MSQ.
WHAT'S NEW IN GATE 2025
MTech Admissions: The Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at IIT Kanpur (official website) will admit MTech students through GATE 2025.
PSU Recruitment Updates:
1. NPCIL (Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited): GATE 2025 scores in CE, CH, EC, EE, IN, and ME test papers will be considered for recruitment.
2. GRID-INDIA: GATE 2025 scores in EE test papers will be used for recruitment.
3. GAIL (India) Limited: GATE 2025 scores in CH, CS, EE, IN, and ME test papers will be utilised for recruitment.
