Three women attacked with chemical on bus in Andhra, hospitalised

An unidentified attacker allegedly threw a chemical substance at three women on a bus, causing breathing difficulties and prompting their immediate hospitalisation.

Three women were attacked with chemicals while travelling on a bus in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, causing breathing difficulties, police said.

An unidentified person allegedly threw a chemical substance at the women. According to witnesses, the victims began screaming and coughing, prompting the driver to immediately stop the bus.

With the help of locals, the women were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

"We are investigating whether the substance used in the attack was indeed acid or another chemical," said Police Circle Inspector Chandrashekhar.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. A further probe is underway.
