Dupahiya Season 2 gets release date: Nirahua joins Gajraj Rao, Bhuvan Arora

Prime Video has set the premiere date of Dupahiya Season 2 and added Nirahua to the cast. The new chapter returns to Dhadakpur with fresh complications, bigger stakes and the show's familiar humour.

Prime Video has announced the premiere date for Dupahiya Season 2. Set in the fictional village of Dhadakpur, the comedy-drama will return with a new set of problems and more chaos on October 1.

The new season will see Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma reprise their roles. Bhojpuri actor and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, will also join the cast.

What to expect from Dupahiya Season 2

The series is set in Dhadakpur, a fictional rural village known for its quirky characters and small-town charm. While the first season revolved around the village and its residents, the new season promises fresh challenges and bigger complications for the characters.

Directed by Sonam Nair, Dupahiya Season 2 has been created and produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel LLP. Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg have created and written the series.

Prime Video's Director and Head of Originals, Nikhil Madhok, said the response to the first season showed that the story had connected with audiences. He credited the show's creators and writers for shaping the world of Dupahiya and added that the new season would bring back its “simple charm, innocence, and light-hearted spirit”.

Creators and executive producers Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani said the story is set in rural India but revolves around universal themes of dreams and everyday chaos.

“Dupahiya has always been a story close to our hearts. While the narrative is set in rural India, at its core, it is a story about big dreams colliding with everyday chaos — and finding the unexpected humour along the way,” they said in a statement.

They added that Season 2 will bring “newer challenges and bigger stakes” for the characters, while also exploring emotional moments alongside the comedy.

Dupahiya Season 2 will stream on Prime Video from October 1.
