Bee attack kills daily worker in Keonjhar, poor family demands compensation

Keonjhar: In an unfortunate incident, a daily worker died following a bee attack in Dimbo area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Friday.
One Sankhali Maharana of Guhalchatua village along with others was working at the Dimbo-based Engineering College. However, he was attacked by swarm of bees.
Later, Sankhali Maharana was rushed to the Keonjhar District Headquarter Hospital in a critical condition where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Sankhali’s poor family demanded compensation from the college over his tragic death.

“My father was attacked by the bees while we were working in the college today. We were busy preparing concrete mixer for the construction work while the bees attacked him. We took him to the hospital but doctor declared him dead,” said Sukanti Maharana.
“As we are poor and have to work on a regular basis for our survival, we demand some financial assistance from the college as my father died while working for them,” she added.
