Former MLA allegedly attacked in Dharmasala, watch

Jajpur: Former MLA and senior BJD leader Pranab Balabantray and his supporters were attacked during the party’s Jan Sampark Padayatra at Madhupurgada Gram Panchayat under Jenapur Police Station in Jajpur district on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place at around 3 PM.
According to Balabantray, a group of around 40–50 people attacked him and his supporters. He alleged that some of the attackers were carrying swords, axes and other dangerous weapons and that the assault was intended to cause serious injuries.
Three vehicles, including Balabantray’s vehicle, were also allegedly damaged during the violence. He further alleged that after the initial incident, the group went to the residence of Jagdish Jenamani, threatened him and subsequently attacked Balabantray again.
Following the incident, Balabantray submitted a written complaint to the Jajpur Superintendent of Police, seeking immediate registration of an FIR and stringent action against all those involved.

In his complaint, Balabantray alleged that the attackers were supporters and associates of Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo.
However, MLA Himanshu Sahoo’s response is awaited.
