Standard safety features across all variants include electronic stability control, side head curtain airbags, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders for all passengers.
There is an important context to these numbers. The Nissan Tekton is a corporate twin to the Renault Duster and both cars share the same platform, body structure, and safety equipment. Bharat NCAP has explicitly noted in its fact sheet that the Tekton’s rating is based on the assessment of the Renault Duster, given the two are structurally and mechanically identical in terms of safety architecture.
The Duster had previously secured the same scores which means buyers of both cars are getting the same level of passive safety protection. In the context of its segment, the Tekton’s AOP score is the lowest among its two most direct rivals, sitting behind the Tata Sierra at 31.14 out of 32 and the Kia Seltos at 31.70 out of 32. The COP score, however, is on par with the Seltos at 45 out of 49, and better than the Sierra’s 44.73 out of 49.
