Srinagar, Nov 27: Aliza Shah, a talented young athlete from Presentation Convent HR Secondary School, has made Kashmir proud by winning a gold medal in the 68th Junior SGFI Wushu National Championship held in Jammu from November 21-26.

The championship brought together approximately 300 top athletes from 22 states, with Shah emerging as the only female gold medalist from the Kashmir Valley. This victory marks her ninth National Medal and second consecutive SGFI national medal, highlighting her exceptional skill and dedication to the sport.

Shah and her sister Kaifa, an international medalist, began their Wushu journey in 2013. Throughout the tournament, Aliza demonstrated remarkable resilience, overcoming challenges including an injury during the quarter-finals to ultimately triumph in the championship.

Her success is attributed to the support of her coach Kuldeep Handoo, the J&K Sports Department, and her school management. Shah’s victory not only represents a personal achievement but also serves as an inspiration for young athletes in the region.

From defeating tough competitors to maintaining her composure under pressure, Aliza Shah has proven herself as a rising star in the world of Wushu, bringing recognition to her school, her region, and her sport.
