CM Omar Abdullah to attend J&K's maiden Ranji Trophy final

Srinagar, Feb 27: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will attend the final day play of the Ranji Trophy finals at the KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground in Hubballi.

He will be accompanied by his advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and National Conference chief spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq.

“On our way to Hubli to cheer the J&K cricket team as they play the final of the Ranji Trophy. They’ve already made lakhs of people so very proud of their achievements by reaching the final,” CM Omar Abdullah wrote on X.

“I’m really looking forward to spending the day tomorrow in the stands cheering them on,” the post reads.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Tanvir Sadiq said it was a historic movement for Jammu & Kashmir and Chief Minister decided to attend the last day play himself.

“CM decided to attend the match and cheer our team on. I wish best of luck t the J&K team. They have made us proud,” he said.

Meanwhile former India captain and ex-BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly showered praise on Baramulla pacer Auqib and urged chief selector Ajit Agarkar to take his performance into account for national team selection.

“J&K has shown the world what effort and intent can do ..They have made that region so proud of them .. tuff environment makes tuff people. Auqib nabi on his way to national colours .. england is the place to start in the summer @bcci @imAagarkar @lonsaikia,” Ganguly wrote in X.

J&K resumed the third day’s play at 527/6 with Lotra and Abid Mushtaq at the crease.
