Jose Mourinho and Evangelos Marinakis is 'drama' guaranteed as Nottingham Forest told chances
by James Pallatt · NottinghamshireLiveNottingham Forest would not be able to convince Jose Mourinho to come to the City Ground.
That’s the view of one of his former players at Chelsea, William Gallas.
Mourinho, who is a free agent after being sacked by Turkish side Fenerbahce, is among the early favourites to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.
But speaking before Nuno was sacked by Forest, Gallas told Gambling Zone: “Nottingham Forest, I don’t see them convincing him to join them. Can you imagine Evangelos Marinakis and Jose Mourinho, what a combination! That would definitely have some sort of drama involved. I don’t think Forest, the owner or Mourinho need that right now.”
Nuno’s departure from the City Ground was confirmed by a club statement, released at 12.15am on Tuesday.
It read: "Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that, following recent circumstances, Nuno Espírito Santo has today been relieved of his duties as Head Coach.
"The Club thanks Nuno for his contribution during a very successful era at the City Ground, in particular his role in the 2024/25 season, which will forever be remembered fondly in the history of the Club.
"As someone who played a pivotal role in our success last season, he will always hold a special place in our journey."
