Evangelos Marinakis states Nottingham Forest intent as he looks to 'new journey'
by James Pallatt · NottinghamshireLiveEvangelos Marinakis has delivered his Europa League prediction for Nottingham Forest.
The Reds owner believes they can “go far” in the competition given the strength of the squad at the City Ground, which has been bolstered with eight new arrivals so far this summer and will be further strengthened before the transfer deadline on Monday.
Marinakis is in Monaco and discussed Forest’s chances on their return to Europe as he attended the Champions League draw for Olympiacos on Thursday.
In a translated interview, he said: “Nottingham is a big club, with a long history, with two European champions back then.
“We returned to the European competitions. People are looking forward to this new journey.
“And we believe that we have a good team and we can go far in the Europa League.
“We have made some good signings and there is a good atmosphere with the players and I believe that everything will be fine.”
