Nottingham Forest return to action after the international break on Monday evening when they take on Crystal Palace.

The Reds have made a fine start to the Premier League season but are yet to claim a victory at the City Ground. They will be aiming to put that right when Palace come to town on Monday (8pm kick-off).

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo will be absent from the touchline as he serves a three-match ban, while Morgan Gibbs-White and James Ward-Prowse are also suspended for the clash. Additionally, Forest still have a few players on the sidelines. Below, we look at the Reds' injury state of play.

Morgan Gibbs-White

Injury: Ankle.

What we know: With 15 minutes to go of Forest's 1-1 draw at Chelsea before the international break, Gibbs-White limped off the Stamford Bridge pitch. He seemed to pick up an injury when he had a shot charged down in the second half of the contest.

The attacker underwent scans on the injury and was forced to pull out of the England squad for the recent international fixtures. He has been pictured wearing a protective boot and using crutches, meaning he would have been a doubt to face Palace even if he were not suspended.

What has been said: "He's still injured. Hopefully for the next game he's going to be available," Nuno said in Friday's pre-match press conference. "It was in the game against Chelsea. He went out with a lot of pain He’s still recovering, he’s getting much better day by day, but it’s still going to take some time.

“It’s always a day by day assessment, it’s with the medical department and the player to see how he is. For Palace, he’s not available.”

Matz Sels

Injury: Adductor.

What we know: The Forest goalkeeper withdrew from the Belgium squad last week and was said to have returned Trentside for further assessment. In his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Palace, Nuno is said to have indicated Sels is fit for Monday's match after a minor injury.

Danilo

Injury: Broken ankle.

What we know: Just eight minutes into the new Premier League season, Danilo suffered a broken ankle when he landed awkwardly after challenging for the ball in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth. He underwent surgery and it is hoped he could return to training by December. Pictures on social media have shown him having hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions to aid his recovery.

The fact he suffered a clean break should help with his recovery. However, it will still take the midfielder time to build up his fitness once he does rejoin his teammates. Last week, Danilo posted footage of himself on social media showing him happy but walking with his left leg in a knee-length boot and using a crutch

What has been said: “The surgery went well. Now we have to be patient,” head coach Nuno has said.

“First of all, the important thing is that he takes his time; that he does not make any mistakes. For now, he is not allowed to put his foot on the ground (or put weight through it). It is a small detail, but it is a big detail.

“We do not want to rush him, we do not want to put him under any pressure to come back. He has to settle down.”

Ibrahim Sangare

Injury: Hamstring.

What we know: The Reds midfielder is expected to be out of action for at least two months with a hamstring issue. He underwent surgery on the same day as his teammates were beating Liverpool and faces a significant spell on the sidelines. He sustained the injury prior to the September international break and the severity of it was picked up in tests when he was back at the club after leaving the Ivory Coast camp.

What has been said: "Unfortunately, Ibrahim Sangare is going to be a while," Nuno said after the win at Anfield.
