India cricket team will not have a practice session in Melbourne on Monday ahead of IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test. Rohit Sharma and co. get a day’s rest after sweating it out in intense training drills and net sessions over the last two days. After managing to draw the 3rd Test in Brisbane, the Indian cricketers wasted no time in beginning their preparations for the 4th Test on their arrival at Melbourne.

No practice for India, Australia get first net session in Melbourne

As per reports, India will not have any net sessions on Monday. Meanwhile, the Australian team will have their first net session after arriving in Melbourne for IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test. The contest is a must-win for India in order to keep their hopes of winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and making it the third consecutive WTC final alive.

India’s training session over the last two days witnessed multiple injury scare. keeper-batter KL Rahul, who has been arguably the best Indian batter so far in the series, suffered a freak bac injury scare. On Sunday, captain Rohit Sharma was spotted sitting with an ice pack on his knee after being struck while batting in the nets. On the same day, he was seen wielding a baseball bat to hone his batting and fielding skills. The duo of Rohit and Virat Kohli were also among the first Indian players to hit the nets on the team’s arrival in Melbourne. Pacer Akash Deep also reportedly copped a blow to his body during training on Sunday.

The IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test will get underway from December 26 at a sold out MCG stadium.
