In match number 15 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, Peshawar Zalmi continued their winning run as they defeated debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by 4 wickets at the National Stadium in Karachi. After the Babar Azam-led side put the Kingsmen to bat first, they chased the total of 145 with ease, courtesy of a 37-ball 43 from the skipper’s bat along with key contributions from other batters. Following the victory, Babar Azam appeared in the post-match presser and was encountered with an absurd question.
A Pakistani journalist questioned the top-order batter over his finishing ability while drawing a comparison with Virat Kohli. “There are a lot of expectations from you. You carry the innings but don’t finish games. You’re often compared to Virat Kohli. Do you think this comparison is fair?” the journalist questioned. The Pakistan batter was quick to respond as he shut the comparison made with Kohli.
“Khatam kar dein aap. Jis wajah se aap sawal kar rahe hai, chor dein aap…. maine bahut matches finish kiye hai, aapko lagta nahi hai par kiye hai (Close the discussion. End the comparison and move on. I have finished a lot of matches. It’s your misconception that I have not finished matches),” he responded, videos of which have been making rounds.
