TNPL 2026 to be held between August 4-28, Tamil Nadu Premier League 2026 auction on July 3

The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2026) will take place in two phases and will commence from August 4 onwards in Natham.

The upcoming edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2026) will be held in two phases between August 4-28, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has informed. Last year, the tournament commenced on June 5 and was held in a single phase, which saw 32 T20s being played, with the final taking place on July 6. TNPL 2025 saw four venues being used for the tournament – Dindigul, Salem, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore. However, in TNPL 2026, only two venues will be used.

TNPL 2026 to start from August 4

As per the Tamil Nadu State Cricket Association, TNPL 2026 will take place in two phases. The first phase will see games played at NPR College in Natham from August 4 to 15. The second phase of the tournament will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from August 18 to August 28. The TNCA has informed that the full schedule, information on tickets, and other information will be announced in the due course of time.

TNPL 2026 auction

The TNCA has also informed that the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2026) auction will take place on July 3 (Friday) at the Sriraman Hall (KMK Stand, Ground Floor) in Chennai from 2.45 PM IST onwards. A total of 783 cricketers have registered to go under the hammer. While there are no players slotted in Category A, Category B has 10, followed by 6 in C and 767 in D.

IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans are the defending champions, having defeated Ravichandran Ashwin’s Dindigul Dragons by 118 runs in the TNPL 2025 final. 8 teams are a part of the league, namely – Dindigul Dragons, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Salem Spartans, Kovai Kings, Chepauk Super Gillies, Madurai Panthers, Trichy Grand Cholas and Nellai Royal Kings.
