by Fintan O'Toole · The42LAST UPDATE | 7 hrs ago
LIVERPOOL WILL TAKE on defending champions Paris Saint-Germain at the quarter-final stage of this season’s Champions League, a rematch of last year’s knockout tie where the French side won on penalties at Anfield.
The conclusion of the second leg ties in the last 16 stage last night finalised the quarter-final pairings.
Arne Slot’s side progressed past Galatasaray and their reward is a rematch with Paris Saint-Germain, conquerors of Chelsea last night. Liverpool will be away for the first leg on Wednesday 8 April, before enjoying home advantage for the second leg on Tuesday 14 April.
Bayern Munich, after cruising past Atalanta in their clash, will play Real Madrid, while Atlético Madrid face Barcelona in an all-La Liga tie.
Premier League leaders Arsenal will face Sporting CP, both sides progressing on Tuesday night past Bayer Leverkusen and Bodo-Glimt respectively. Arsenal are away in Portugal for the first leg on Tuesday 7 April, and then at home for the second leg on Wednesday 15 April.
Here’s the full breakdown of the quarter-final pairings and the permutations for the semi-finals.
