East Kilbride Pirates have crowned their outstanding players of the year, with the senior team, under 16 and under 19 teams all honoured recenty.
The senior side held a virtual event but the younger sides convened at GHA Rugby Club in Giffnock, where Pirates play their home games, to celebrate their successes in 2024.
Winners at the senior awards were as follows:
Rookie of the Year - Offense: Robbie Pennie
Rookie of the Year - Defense: Youssef Betout
Most Improved Player of the Year: Youssef Betout
Special Teams Player of the Year: James Williams
Lineman of the Year: Rob Hayes
Defensive player of the Year: Ryan Strachan
Offensive Player of the Year: Iain McFarlane
Player of the Year: Mark Stewart
Players’ player of the Year: Mark Stewart.
The under-19 winners were:
Rookie of the Year: Rory Woods
Most Improved Player: Grant Allison
Special Teams Player of the Year: Shawn Blackmore
Lineman of the Year: Pearce McAllister
Offensive Player of the Year: Arran McDonald
Defensive Player of the Year: Greig Kean
Players’ Player of the Year: Dan Crawley and Greig Kean – joint winners
Player of the Year 2024: Dan Crawley and Ben Grove – joint winners
At under-16 level, the winners were:
Most Improved Player: Rhys Gourlay
Rookie of the Year: David Aderemi
Offensive Player of the Year: Dylan Grant
Defensive Player of the Year: Alex Miller
Heart Award: Kayden Maloney and Leah McKendrick – joint winners
Players’ Player of the Year: Tate Garrett
