NEW YORK, Sept 13 : Top seed Alexander Zverev of Germany beat American Ben Shelton 6-3 7-6(2) 5-7 6-2 in the U.S. Open final on Sunday to win his first title at Flushing Meadows and second Grand Slam crown.

Zverev added the New York title to his collection after winning the French Open trophy earlier this year.
