DUBLIN, May 2 : Leinster staved off a late charge from Toulon to secure a nail-biting 29-25 victory on Saturday that sees the Irish side through to the European Champions Cup final against either Bordeaux or Bath in Bilbao on May 23.
Leinster scored two tries in the first half but had yellow cards for Andrew Porter and Harry Byrne before the break.
Toulon immediately scored a try through Seta Tuicuvu but a huge effort by Leinster saw Garry Ringrose cross the line early in the second half for the Irish side to mitigate the damage.
A try from captain Caelan Doris in the 67th minute looked to have sealed it for the home side as Leinster took a 29-11 lead into the final minutes but two converted tries brought Toulon back into the match to set up a grandstand finish.
Toulon had their moments in a late scramble but, needing a try to win, they lost momentum by knocking the ball on as Leinster hung on for victory.
