Organized by J. Melton N. Yoko, Chairman of the Montserrado Sub-Association of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), the pre-season tournament provides a high-stakes competitive platform for grassroots football development, talent discovery, and community engagement.

The competition is sponsored by Kingdom F.C., a newly established football development program operating under the motto “Playing for a Higher Purpose.”

Organizers say the fixtures will serve as vital preparation for participating clubs ahead of the official LFA Third and Fourth Division league season.

Group Pairings Confirmed

The 16 participating clubs have been drawn into four competitive groups:

Group A: Massa FC, Woahfa FC, Benzard FC, Jakah FC

Group B: Graceland FC, Anointed Star, Oasis FC, AIE

Group C: Gbengbar Town FC, LISDA, Teddy United, Zion FC

Group D: Kingdom FC, Redeem SA, LEAD MFA, Marcelo FC

Attractive Cash Package & Individual Awards

The tournament carries significant financial incentives for lower-division clubs. The winner will claim a grand prize of LRD $200,000 alongside a championship trophy, while the runner-up will receive LRD $50,000 and silver medals.

In addition to team prizes, individual excellence on the pitch will be recognized.

The Harris Business Center located at the intersection of Carey and Randall Streets in Monrovia has officially signed on as the primary sponsor for the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Golden Boot (top scorer) awards.

Combining Sports, Education, and Fan Giveaways

In an effort to pair athletic development with academic support, Kingdom F.C. will award three one-year academic scholarships valued at US $300 each (totaling US $900).

The scholarships will be presented during halftime ceremonies at the semifinal and final matches.

Spectators will also participate in interactive halftime draws throughout the tournament. A grand halftime draw during the final match will see one lucky attendee win an iPhone 16 Pro Max, while additional fan giveaways include bags of rice, cash awards, mobile data packages, and promotional items.

Driving Grassroots Impact

By bringing together 16 lower-division clubs from across Montserrado County, the Kingdom Cup aims to bolster competitive experience at the foundational levels of Liberian football while utilizing sports as a tool for youth discipline, leadership development, and social cohesion.
