Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to Las Vegas, Nevada, last night (Sat., April 5, 2025) to stage UFC Vegas 105 inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event of the evening, Lerone Murphy defeated Josh Emmett after 25 minutes of back-and-forth action via unanimous decision (recap here), while the co-main event saw Pat Sabatini defeat Joanderson Brito via unanimous decision (relive it here). In further action, Brad Tavares returned to the win column by defeating Gerald Meerschaert, via unanimous decision as well.
Winner: Lerone Murphy
Who He Should Face Next: Arnold Allen
With one of the biggest career wins in his back pocket, Murphy is inching closer and closer to a spot in the Top 5 thanks to his impressive undefeated record (16-0-1, 8-0-1 UFC). As far as what could be next for “The Miracle,” I wouldn’t mind seeing him face off against Arnold Allen (No. 7), who was last seen defeating Giga Chikadze in July 2024, snapping his two-fight skid. Murphy called for a fight against Brian Ortega, but “T-City” is coming off a loss against Diego Lopes and is 1-3 in his last four fights, so I’d rather see “The Miracle” facing someone coming off a win.
Winner: Pat Sabatini
Who He Should Face Next: Melquizael Costa
Sabatini secured his second straight win after an impressive shutout of the aforementioned Brito, bringing him to 7-2 inside the Octagon. A fight against Costa could be right up Sabatini’s alley in the near future. Costa is currently on a three-fight win streak and was most recently seen defeating Christian Rodriguez via unanimous decision last week at UFC Mexico City.
Winner: Chang Ho Lee
Who He Should Face Next: Carlos Vera
Lee improved his win streak to five in a row thanks to a second round technical knockout win over Cortavious Romious (see it again here). Lee is 11-1 as a professional and made his way to the promotion via Road To UFC — he’s off to a great start. I wouldn’t mind seeing him battle it out against Vera next. “Pequeno” is fresh off a win over Josias Musasa last month, marking his first win inside the Octagon.
Winner: Brad Tavares
Who He Should Face Next: Cody Brundage
Tavares snapped his two-fight losing streak and scored his first win in 1.5 years by defeating Gerald Meerschaert via unanimous decision. Tavares has been around the block a few times, and he’s faced many of UFC’s best during his 15-year run with the promotion. That said, big name fights are likely not in his future; therefore, someone like Brundage — who is coming off a technical knockout win over Julian Marquez last month — is more reasonable.
Winner: Ode Osbourne
Who He Should Face Next: Charles Johnson
Osbourne got back on track and snapped his horrid three-fight losing streak, defeating Luis Gurule via second round technical knockout to secure his first win in two years (watch highlights). “The Jamaican Sensation” now has a new lease on his combat life, so it behooves him to use this win as a catalyst. A fight against Johnson sounds about right for Osbourne’s next challenge. Johnson recently had his four-fight win streak snapped in his most recent outing last month, losing to Ramazan Temirov via unanimous decision.
Winner: Torrez Finney
Who He Should Face Next: Albert Duraev
Finney did have a successful UFC debut, defeating Robert Valentin via split decision; however, it was far from impressive. Undefeated (11-0, 1-0 UFC), Finney had to win three times on Contender Series before he was able to convince Dana White to award him a contract. He will have to be a bit more impressive in victory in his sophomore effort if he wants to have a prolonged career inside the Octagon. A showdown against Duraev could be a next challenge for Finney. Duraev is 2-2 inside the Octagon and is coming off a loss at the hands of Jun Yong Park. Duraev would be a solid test for Finney, providing him with a chance to deliver a better performance, which wont be difficult after setting the bar so low.
