In Season 3, the Pogues finally got their happily-ever moment after finding the gold at El Dorado. Season 4 opens with the Pogues leaving the treasure-hunting life behind to start a bait and tackle shop and charter tour company. “They come back home to the Outer Banks and they actually build what they had on the island, but even a better version of it: Poguelandia 2.0,” showruner Jonas Pate told Entertainment Weekly. “They really create their own paradise.”
However, their bliss only lasts “for a second,” Stokes teased to the site, because the Pogues soon find themselves back in the “G game” — this time on a new treasure hunt for the pirate Blackbeard’s trove. “The season’s really about them trying to protect what they’ve built back in the Outer Banks,” Jonas added.
Netflix renewed the popular young adult series for a fourth season in February 2023, just days before the Season 3 premiere. The streamer announced that the upcoming season will be split into two parts (like its other successful series Bridgerton and Emily in Paris, which also debuted new seasons in 2024).

While discussing their characters’ evolution with Forbes contributor Jeff Conway, series star Madelyn Cline expressed her appreciation for Sarah’s “sensitivity and softness.” Meanwhile, Stokes reflected on the “beautiful” experience of portraying his character for five years, though he noted it can also feel like a curse.
As for what advice he would give his character leading into Season 4, Stokes answered, “I would say that obviously, he has been through a lot and there’s been a lot of tumultuous moments over the last couple years now of this kid’s life, but it’s not definitive of who he is and mistakes are sometimes the best life lessons, and to look at them and to acknowledge them and move forward from it.”

When Is Outer Banks Season 4 Premiering On Netflix?
The first five episodes of Outer Banks Season 4 will debut on Netflix on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, at 3:00 a.m. ET / 12:00 a.m. PT. The final five episodes in Part 2 will follow on Nov. 7.
What Will Outer Banks Season 4 Be About?
Netflix’s released the official synopsis for the fourth season of Outer Banks, which promises to be the show’s “biggest season” yet.
“Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a ‘normal’ life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed ‘Poguelandia 2.0,’ where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop,” the synopsis reads.
The description continues, “But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the ‘G’ game for a whole new adventure. But before they know it, they’re well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?”

Most of the Season 3 cast is returning for the fourth installment of Outer Banks, including lead stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline. After being promoted to a series regular, Fiona Palomo will also return as Sofia.
