Asics Announces Upgrades To Popular Tennis Shoe With Gel-Resolution X

Asics announces the release of the Gel-Resolution X tennis shoe on Jan. 10, the 10th iteration of a model with an updated focus on the shoe’s hallmark support and comfort.
The Gel-Resolution X features a new two-piece midsole structure, an updated Dynawall stability technology and a fresh approach to lacing.
“The comfort and support in this new model are game changers,” says Beatriz Haddad Maia, World No. 17. “I feel more confidence in my movements, and that confidence makes all the difference on the court. In tennis, your feet are everything; they’re your foundation.”
The new midsole features the brand’s Flytefoam in the forefoot and FF Blast Plus Eco in the heel. Both pair with the P-Gel cushioning technology. The heel cushioning approach is new for the update, aimed to provide “cloudlike cushioning,” the brand says about a shoe designed for comfort and stability for baseline players.
FF Blast Plus Eco first debuted in the brand’s performance running product. It was reengineered for tennis and placed under the heel to improve comfort. Made with 24% bio-based content, Asics adds some sustainability to its cushioning.

The Dynawall stability technology that features on the shoe’s upper now extends from the outside of the foot and wraps the heel for additional support. A higher medial ankle cut is designed to increase support during intense movements by helping prevent ankle twisting.
“The right shoes are essential for success,” Haddad Maia says, “and with the Gel-Resolution X shoe, I know I’m stepping onto the court with better support.”
The new customizable Dynalacing system makes it easy to find better comfort and a preferred fit, the brand says. The design is meant to provide more enhanced comfort and flexibility whether needing extra support or additional room. An Asics-led sensory study showed that reviewers gave the Gel-Resolution X higher marks than the Gel-Resolution 9 and two competitor brands in terms of comfort and stability.

Haddas Maia isn’t the only Asics athlete wearing the Gel-Resolution lineup, which also includes the likes of Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz and now Lorenzo Musetti.
Upon switching to Asics for the 2025 season, Musetti says “their tennis shoes especially are renowned for their high-performance and comfort.”
