A registered charity and childcare provider, Centre Point, has been nominated for the Community Champion Award for being there for families “without judgement, but instead with kindness, compassion and practical help”.
The organisation’s nominator, Magdalena Ford, praised the charity’s ongoing childcare support, which has made it possible for her to continue working in a role which helps young people through crisis, supports parents, and strengthens families in the community.
“By supporting one family, Centre Point has enabled countless other families and vulnerable young people to receive help, guidance and hope,” she said. “Their impact reaches far beyond the people they work with directly.”
The nominator acknowledges all the staff and volunteers at Centre Point and described them to be “quiet heroes” who do wonderful things for our communities but never seek recognition.
Ms Ford believes that Centre Point is the true definition of what it means to be a Community Champion as “they remind us that when we lift one another up, the whole community becomes stronger”.
