Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren believes the team is making steady progress as they continue preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Speaking to GFA communications, the Swedish trainer said the goal is for the Black Queens to improve by at least 10 percent in every area compared to last year.

According to Lars, the team is working on becoming fitter, tactically stronger, and more effective from set pieces. He noted that the players and technical staff have made significant strides over the past year and are now focusing on refining the finer details of their game.

"we have been talking about that we want to be 10% better this year than than previous year if we talking about the WAFCON Cup. And that comes with with everything. We want to be 10% more fit. We want to be 10% tactical better, 10% better when it comes to set pieces and all of those small details,: he said.

"And I think that we all overall are in a much better place now than 1 year ago. So, now we're looking before we was looking at the whole picture a little bit more. And now we're looking at the small details. So, I I step by step we getting better and especially set pieces is the area we can improve I think that's very important with this camp.

"So we have worked a lot then we have tried some new things and in the end of the day when it comes to semi-final and final games they will be more or less 50-50 games and those small details can make the difference,"
