The 2026/27 Women’s FA Cup will get underway on the weekend of November 20, 2025, and run through to May 10, 2027, following approval of the competition calendar by the Executive Council.

A total of 64 clubs are set to compete for the title, made up of 44 teams from the Division One Regional Women’s leagues and 20 sides from the Women’s Premier League, ensuring a wide national representation across all levels of the women’s game.

The competition will kick off with the Round of 64, with fixtures organised on a regional basis. This approach is expected to reduce travel demands while also promoting local rivalries in the early stages.

From the Round of 16, the format will shift to a zonal system, raising the level of competition as teams progress toward the latter rounds of the tournament.

The Women’s FA Cup continues to serve as an important platform for clubs across divisions to compete on a national stage, offering lower-tier sides the opportunity to test themselves against top-flight opposition.
