Several former Black Queens players are taking the next step in their football journeys after completing Module One of the FIFA Coach Education Scholarship: All-Female CAF Licence C Coaching Course in Prampram.

The group of 19 participants includes former Ghana internationals Dzormo Adzekwei, Fafali Dumehasi, Leticia Afi Zikpi, Alberta Asante and Safia, who are all preparing for careers in coaching after their playing days.

The course forms part of the Ghana Football Association's strategy to increase female representation in coaching and provide retired players with opportunities to remain active within the game.

Current players such as Jennifer Ackah of Samartex Ladies, Rosalina Asaliba of Bolga All Stars and Veronica Adongo of Bolga All Stars also participated in the programme.

Former Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo, who served as an instructor during the course, highlighted the value former players bring to coaching.

"Your experience as players is invaluable. Now you have the tools to pass it on properly. You are the bridge between the dreams of young girls and the national teams of tomorrow," she said.

The coaching scholarship programme is designed to ensure that women who have contributed to Ghana football as players can continue influencing the sport from the technical area.

With Module One completed, the participants have taken an important step towards earning CAF coaching qualifications and potentially shaping the future of women's football in Ghana from the dugout rather than the pitch.
