Scottish Premiership side Livingston FC have announced the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Danso ahead of the opening of the winter transfer window.

The 25-year-old signed a pre-contract to join Livingston on New Years Day following the expiration of his contract at Norwegian outfit Stabaek. He joins on a three-and-a-half years deal and will wear the number 37 jersey.

"We’re delighted to announce the pre-contract signing of Ghanaian Emmanuel Danso from Stabæk following the expiry of his contract. The 25-year-old midfielder will officially become David Martindale’s first signing of the January window when he joins on New Years Day, subject to international transfer clearance," wrote the club, confirming the switch.

The former Sporting Club Accra player gained attention after his best friend Mohammed Kudus mentioned him in a viral interview during his time at West Ham.

Several clubs started to circle around him for his services but Livingston made a concrete offer, enough to convince the player to sign a pre-contract.

Danso started his career at SC Accra before spending time on loan in France with Olympique Lyonnais, where he made 12 appearances for Lyon II.

He then moved to Norway, where he first signed for Stromsgodset before joining Stabaek.

This year, he has made 24 appearances in the Norwegian Eliteserien for Stabaek.
