Mali showed class on Thursday night, brushing aside Comoros with a 3-0 victory in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Eagles hosted their Round 7 opponent today at Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, hoping to secure a win to get their qualification campaign back on track.

Having set up with a strong starting eleven, Mali overpowered Comoros in the 90 minutes of the contest, winning both halves.

A solitary strike from Dorgeles Nene in the 28th minute sent Mail into the halftime break with a narrow lead before goals from Kamory Doumbia and Lassana Coulibaly in the second half sealed the big win for the hosts.

With the delightful victory, Mali now occupy the third position in the Group I standings with 12 points, one point behind Madagascar in second and four points behind leaders Ghana.

Up next for Mali, the side will travel to Ghana to prepare for a tough clash against the Black Stars on September 8.

The result from that highly anticipated showdown will have a significant bearing on the qualification campaign in Group I.
