Inaki Williams is on the verge of another huge milestone with Athletic Club, as the captain is set to make his 400th LaLiga appearance this Sunday at San Mamés against Villarreal.

Despite a difficult season marked by injuries across the squad and some physical issues of his own, the forward has continued to show remarkable commitment and consistency on the pitch.

Williams’ influence goes well beyond his goal tally. He remains a key reference in the dressing room and in the stands, known for his gestures of leadership and respect toward teammates and fans.

Recently, centre-back Yeray Álvarez revealed how Williams gave him the captain’s armband on his return from a 10‑month UEFA ban, a moment that summed up their bond. “Iñaki decided on the gift; we've been together our whole lives, through good times and bad, we're there for each other... words can't express my gratitude,” Yeray admitted.

Against Villarreal, Williams will become only the fifth active LaLiga player to reach 400 league games, further cementing his place in Athletic history and underlining his longevity at the top level.

Inaki Willaims has played 22 games, scored two goals, and assisted two in the LaLiga this season.
