Ashiaku brace fires Black Damsels past Tanzania in CAF Schools Championship
· GhanaSoccernetGhana’s Black Damsels maintained their perfect start at the CAF African Schools Football Championship with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Tanzania in their second group match.
After a strong opening win, Ghana faced a tougher test against a determined Tanzanian side but showed resilience to secure all three points, thanks to a brace from Christiana Ashiaku.
Ghana made a bright start and took the lead as early as the 6th minute when Ashiaku capitalised on sustained attacking pressure to put the team ahead.
Tanzania responded well, growing into the game and eventually finding an equaliser after testing Ghana’s defence with sustained pressure.
However, Ghana regained control shortly after the restart, with Ashiaku scoring her second of the match in the 36th minute to restore the lead.
The Black Damsels were then forced to defend resolutely in the closing stages as Tanzania pushed for another equaliser, but Ghana held firm to secure the win.
The result strengthens Ghana’s position in the group as they prepare to face Burkina Faso in their final group match on April 7 in Harare.
