Black Stars eye victory over Chad in World Cup qualifier
· GhanaSoccernetThe Black Stars of Ghana have set their sights on victory against Chad on Thursday afternoon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Ghana national team is taking on its counterpart from Chad today in Round 7 of the African qualifiers for next year’s tournament.
With five wins from the first six matches, the Black Stars are top of Group I with 15 points and in a good position to qualify for the World Cup.
Aware of the importance of the three points from the Chad match, the Black Stars have prepared well and are eyeing a win against their opponent later today.
For head coach Otto Addo, although the game will be tough, his side is mentally prepared to push for the victory.
“We're excited, looking forward to that match. We know it's going to be tough to play away in Africa, it's always tough. Now, also under these circumstances, it will be different because the players are not used to playing on artificial grass. But let's see, I think we are mentally prepared. And like I said, the boys look good and sharp on the pitch today. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to the match tomorrow,” the coach said in his pre-match interview on Wednesday.
Thursday’s clash between Chad and Ghana will kick off at 1 pm at Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno
