2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana’s Sports Minister Kofi Adams confident of victory against Chad

Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams is confident about the Black Stars chances ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Chad.

The West African powerhouse will face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno at 1 pm on Thursday, September 4 before hosting Mali in a crunch clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.

Ahead of the game, Adams, who assumed office early this year has thrown his weight behind the team to triumph over Chad at their own backyard.

“Our Stars are out there to represent the nation, let’s all pray behind the team. Thankfully, the players are in a good shape for the game. I know the team is capable of doing it so I wish them well. Let’s rally behind the team as Ghanaians. I’m sure the team is going to win irrespective of the time the game is fixed” he said at a press conference.

Currently, the West African powerhouse sit top of Group I, accumulating 15 points after six matches, followed by Comoros (12 points), Madagascar (10), Mali (9), Central Africa Republic (5), with Chad yet to secure a point.

The Black Stars will wrap up their qualifiers against Central African Republic and Comoros in October.
