Dutch-Ghanaian attacker Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere was on the scoresheet, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Shenzhen Peng City from suffering defeat against Zhejiang Professional in the Chinese Super Lig clash on Saturday.

The 26-year-old attacker, who joined the club at the beginning of the season, started and lasted the entire duration of the match as his outfit succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat.

Despite the loss, the enterprising Dutch-Ghanaian striker established himself as one of the standout performers for the visitors.

Owusu-Sekyere gave Shenzhen Peng City the lead just before halftime, firing home the opener in the 43rd minute to cap off an impressive first-half display. However, the hosts responded before the break, with Marko Tolić restoring parity to ensure both sides went into halftime level.

Zhejiang Professional returned from the interval with renewed intensity and eventually turned the game around, as Yudong Wang struck in the 79th minute to seal victory for the home side.

The goal marked Owusu-Sekyere’s first of the season after nine appearances in the Chinese top flight, and the former Ajax and FC Twente academy product will be eager to build on that momentum in the coming matches.
