Moritz-Broni Kwarteng scores to rescue point for VfL Bochum in Germany

German-Ghanaian attacking midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng came off the bench to deliver a crucial goal for VfL Bochum in their 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld in the German Bundesliga 2 on Saturday afternoon.

The 28-year-old was introduced late in the game but made an immediate impact, scoring the equaliser shortly after coming on to earn his side a valuable away point in their Round 32 clash.

Bochum had fallen behind in the 27th minute when Joel Grodowski found the back of the net to give the hosts the advantage. Despite their efforts, the visitors struggled to break down Arminia Bielefeld’s defence for much of the game.

However, the tide turned following Kwarteng’s introduction in the 79th minute. Showing composure and attacking instinct, the midfielder struck decisively to level the score, rescuing Bochum from defeat and underlining his importance as an impact player.

Kwarteng has featured 16 times for Bochum in the Bundesliga 2 this season, registering one goal and one assist. Since joining the club in 2023, he has continued to play a supporting role in the squad, with his current contract set to run until the summer of 2027.
