Hearts of Oak and Dreams FC played out a goalless draw at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, with both sides failing to convert the chances they created.

The match was evenly contested and unfolded in two contrasting halves. Hearts of Oak enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges, controlling possession and dictating the tempo, while Dreams FC grew into the game after the break and finished the match on the front foot.

Hearts dominated the early stages, with much of their play channelled down the right flank. The hosts’ best chance of the first half came in the 10th minute when Hussein broke clear from a Dreams corner and went one-on-one with goalkeeper Rahman Osman, who did well to deny him.

Both sides earned corners during the first half, but clear chances were limited as Dreams remained compact and disciplined at the back. Hearts managed a shot on target from a set piece, though it was comfortably handled by Osman. The visitors created a late opening before the interval, but Abdul Razak Salifu failed to make clean contact from a promising cut-back.

Dreams FC showed greater intent after the restart. John Antwi slipped a through pass to Salifu early in the second half, but Benjamin Asare reacted quickly to block the effort. Salifu later found the net, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. Asare continued to impress, denying Antwi and Christian Owusu in quick succession.

Hearts nearly snatched a late winner from a corner, but Osman produced another sharp save. Asare was later named man of the match after a solid display.

The result leaves Hearts on 32 points, while Dreams move up to eighth with 24 points, level with Heart of Lions.
