Orlando City selects Ghanaian Issah Haruna in 2026 MLS SuperDraft
· GhanaSoccernetOrlando City FC has selected Ghanaian-born midfielder Issah Haruna in the 2026 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
Haruna will join the MLS outfit for the 2026 season after impressing the club with his performances at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
The number 20 overall pick was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, earned All-SoCon Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors and also helped UNC Greensboro capture a share of the regular season title.
The Ghanaian youngster featured in 16 matches with 12 starts, contributing three goals and three assists for nine points, while also earning national recognition from TopDrawerSoccer in the Freshman Top 100 and Team of the Week.
Haruna will be joined by forward Harvey Sarajian (No. 5 overall; Wake Forest University), defender Nolan Miller (No. 9 overall; University of Michigan) and defender Jaylen Yearwood (No. 14 overall; University of North Florida), who have all been selected from the first round pick by Orlando City.
Orlando City will resume preparations for the next campaign early 2026, with hopes of winning the ultimate in the MLS.
